Case Study: Black Cannabusiness Brand Refresh

In 2023 I had the opportunity to provide a brand refresh and creative overhaul of Black Cannabusiness, an empowering organization for Black businesses, entrepreneurs, and advocates in the cannabis industry.

As an already-recognized brand, Black Cannabusiness had a solid and growing industry reputation but was ready to sharpen its visual communications. A primary aim of this refresh was to differentiate the dual operations of the organization—editorial and experiential—while maintaining a cohesive feel across social, business development, and in-person activities.

Cannabis branding is often a sea of green, so a cool blue was chosen to add a differentiator.


A bright green was reserved for messaging around events and in-person activities.


The refreshed brand brought a renewed focus to the organization’s communications, lending clarity and cohesion to a thematically diverse social media presence.
